laptops, netbooks and mobile (Palm and IPod) gadgets. I have donated my two PCs and switched myself and family members to combination of lighter equipment incl. Somewhere around 2008 I felt tired of constant "arms race" of upgrading my desktop to match demands of new software, IL2 was the main "culprit". POOROLDSPIKE RESPONSE- Thanks, so if I nip down the shop, what sort of specs should I be looking for such as CPU and graphics etc? If you have the money/are willing to spend it on a high-end, high-spec laptop, I'd go for that, as it gives you more options for other games as well. How well it runs is variable, but it should run on just about anything available. Money's no object, so if I waltz into my local computer shop to buy a laptop off the shelf what sort of specs should I be looking for?Ī buddy of mine plays Il-2 1946 on a cheap Chromebook laptop, so I'm assuming any laptop currently on the market will run Il-2 1946 just fine. Question- can laptops play IL-2 and other high-end flight sims and games? POOROLDSPIKE OP- Hi, PC dummy here, I currently play all my high-end flight sims and wargames on my big high-end PC, but of course it's much too big to cart around on holiday or wherever, so I'm thinking of getting a laptop. (Laptops small screen sizes can of course be overcome by plugging the laptop into a biggish monitor, but I never did get round to buying a laptop because apparently overheating might be a problem unless you buy special fans, and that put me off a bit). White I seriously thought of getting a super-duper high end laptop last year to play high-end games and sims, and asked around various game forums (including M4T) and saved people's replies, so i've posted them below as they might interest you.
